CEO of VooDoo Guru Digital Media
With the rise of the digital age and social media's explosion, proper promotion has never been more important. This new landscape presented Simone Taylor with the perfect opportunity to shine.
Armed with an innate knack for networking and charisma, Simone always knew she had a talent for getting things done. Raised in Inglewood with New Orleans roots, Simone valued hard work and creating meaningful connections from a young age. Knowing she was destined to make her mark, Simone got to work on her journey to the top.
She paid her dues and got her start as an assistant to Builders International CEO, Monte "Bang" Jackson. She immediately exhibited a desire and ability to do it all, working on anything asked of her, from selling artist merchandise to promotions. Under the mentor-ship of Builders’ executives Troy and Sylvon Marshall, she saw her responsibilities and hunger increase with each level of success she experienced.
Her work ethic and chemistry with artists soon moved her up the ranks, leading to her role as manager for the official Builders Music Group recording studio. Before long, she realized that her talent stretched far beyond what she initially envisioned and she set her sights on new goals.
An invitation to speak at Khrissy B's first annual Women In Music panel alongside guests like Real 92.3 on-air personality Ayydé and Heavy Camp Music President, Melissa Keslak was the final sign Simone needed. She quickly got to work on branding herself and created a one-stop-shop for promotions, branding and marketing called VooDoo Guru Digital Media in 2016.
It was the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Simone, who wears a variety of hats in her role as CEO; including hands-on work on branding, marketing and management strategies for rappers, producers and singers. In just a short time, she's earned a reputation for connecting key dots and creating effective promotional rollouts for artists of all levels and experience.
With an eagerness and ability to do whatever the client needs, Simone has displayed a versatility that has earned her the respect and access necessary to succeed in today's music and entertainment business. Whether she has to focus on branding, marketing or artist management, Simone's greatest asset is her desire to connect with her clients and ensure the artist wins.
